“To maintain a nurturing learning environment where every student is valued and respected as a child of God.”
St Joseph’s Rangiora is a state integrated Catholic primary school for girls and boys up to Year 8. We have seven classrooms and a maximum roll of 175 students. Founded in 1887 by the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart (Brown Jo’s) the school was then taken over by the sisters of Our Lady of the Missions in 1898.
St Joseph’s is forming the leaders of tomorrow. Every student is encouraged to reach their full potential socially and academically in order to develop as a whole person, reflect Christ to others and become a valuable member of society.
We believe that parents are the primary educators of their children. We endeavor to provide robust lines of communication to ensure parents are fully engaged in their child’s academic programme. The school and family work together to maintain the high expectations required for children to meet their potential. However, education must not be limited to reading, writing and arithmetic. At St Joseph’s a balanced lifestyle is promoted through the delivery of a strong co-curricular programme including cultural, musical and sporting opportunities.
Student growth is fostered through a secure environment where each individual’s talents are recognised and appreciated. Sound restorative practices, consistent discipline and routine are all provided to lead to self-mastery and growth in virtue.
